Tending to the Seeds of Your True Essence

Happy November, friends! We’re just coming out of a beautiful ceremony we hosted over Samhain and Dia de los Muertos. This ceremony we went deep into ancestral work, releasing a lot of heaviness and distortion from our ancestral lines. Now on the other side of that, we’re asked “what do you want to create instead?” Setting down energies, beliefs, and patterns that no longer serve your highest good is necessary, but it’s also important not to get caught up in purging and shadow hunting. After all, you are here to live a fulfilling, joyful, connected life. And this kind of life comes through cultivation of these frequencies and the frequencies you wish to live in every day. Every time you set down a heavy pattern or energy that is no longer serving, you then have the opportunity to fill that space with your true essence. But in order to do that, you must cultivate a felt sense relationship to that essence. Who are you at your core? Are you joyful? Playful? Peaceful? Vibrant? Creative? What frequency of your true nature is calling for you to spend time cultivating it? What do you want to feel like every day, and how can you cultivate more of that?
I personally have been called to sit and meditate with water a lot lately. Normally I’m a tree person, and the trees are the ones that have been my biggest teachers, but about a month ago I was meditating with the big redwood up against our deck and it very clearly sent me to the river. Since then I’ve been getting a lot of lessons about flow - allowing instead of forcing, going around instead of trying to push through, letting go of control and allowing the natural flow of life to carry me along and wash away that which is ready to leave. For me, just this simple act of shifting my focus to the wisdom of the water and inviting flow into my life has helped to release a deeper level of desire for control. It’s also helped immensely with moving through deeper layers of needing to make things happen, empowering me to soften into allowing the universe to bring into my field that which is for my highest good instead. This takes a lot of trust, but I know this is how I want to live my life. I’ve done the “think of everything and have a plan A, B, and C.” I’ve done the “work really hard to take care of yourself and build a successful life.” It was good experience, but it’s not my truest state. And, I know that to move into my truest state, I can’t just focus on the things I’ve already mastered but don’t want to do anymore. I must cultivate the new ways of being. So, for now, I will continue to sit with the water and learn how to flow. I will take those lessons into my daily life. I will allow them to impact how I make decisions, how I respond to what enters my field, how I organize my days, how I prioritize my time and energy. And just like that, flow will begin to shift my life. It already has.
My invitation to you is to consider, what frequency is really calling you to spend more time with it right now? What do you want to cultivate more of in this season? What is one way you can begin connecting with that frequency daily?
Then just start with the step right in front of you. If you want joy in your life, but you have been in a state of depression and disconnection for years, then trying to connect to joy right away might not even be possible. Sometimes we end up in situations where the frequency we most desire has become something that we can’t connect with in any way. That’s ok, and it’s not permanent. But rather than trying to go directly to the thing that seems so far out of reach, begin building a bridge there. If you want joy but there’s nothing you can do for yourself that truly brings you into a frequency of joy, then maybe connecting to the frequency of peace is a good stair step. Or maybe it’s the frequency of self love that is the step most necessary. Just ask your body and follow your intuition. The universe is always speaking to you, always guiding you if you’ll open yourself to listen. You’ve got this friend, and you’re not on this journey alone.
With love,
Emeline
