Standing In The Light Of What You Are Becoming

The summer solstice is the height of light, a turning point in the year. It invites us to pause and reflect on the natural cycles of life — the ways we grow, release, renew, and return. It is a moment to honor both light and shadow, to give thanks for what has come into bloom, and to recognize what is ready to be transformed. In many ways, the solstice reminds us that life is not linear, but cyclical, and that every ending carries the seed of a new beginning.
We have been moving through our own season of change in a very real way.
Some of you may know that Emeline and I recently moved out of our beautiful home in the redwoods, where we were living and holding ceremony. As much as we loved that space, and as hard as it was to leave, we knew it was time. Time to make a shift. Time to stand in the light of what we are becoming.
We left without another home to move into. We left stepping deeper into the dark wilderness of the unknown — trusting ourselves, trusting our path, being guided by the wisdom of our body, our deepest desires, and the Earth. Some might say we left without a safety net, but we are the safety net.
Of course, there are moments when the humanness of the mind wants to step in, wants to grip, wants to map a way through. It is very convincing. But again and again, the wisdom of the body brings us back to what we already know — we are safe, we are held, and we are divinely guided.
We are in search of a place where the land itself reflects the life we are calling in — flowing water, redwoods, a space to gather in ceremony, and a way of living that is regenerative and in sacred reciprocity with the Earth. But more than a place, this search has become a sacred act: a way of listening deeper with the body, connecting more deeply with the Earth, and allowing what is aligned to reveal itself.
What we are living mirrors the same turning you are invited into at this retreat. This is not a story about us moving from one place to another, but about the deeper shift that happens when we stop forcing our way forward and begin trusting our body, the Earth, and the conditions we are creating.
We have been taught to pursue what we desire as if it lives somewhere outside of us. To chase abundance, prosperity, love, connection — as if they might escape us if we slow down. What we desire does not live outside of us. We magnetize our truest desires through the body, our own energy, and the frequency we are embodying.
The summer solstice is not just the longest day of the year. It is a portal, a threshold between the introspective quiet of spring and the full radiant expression of summer. The Earth reminds us that what is meant for you does not need to be forced or chased — it is already growing within you, and it is safe to let it unfold in its own time. Traditions across the world have honored this moment as a planting season, not just for seeds in the ground, but for the dreams and desires that have been taking root within you. In ceremony, this is the same invitation: listening with the body, aligning with the Earth, and opening to what is ready to come into bloom.
Over seven days, gathered in ceremony and held by the medicines of Bufo and Huachuma — the light medicines — we will work with this peak solar energy to anchor in a new frequency, soften the edges of what no longer serves you, and illuminate the path forward. This is an invitation to step more fully and to embody the life your soul has been calling you toward.
